Retirement Villages

With more people choosing to live in retirement villages, communities, and senior living schemes, ensuring high-quality, person-centered care is essential. The GSF Retirement Village Training Programme was launched in July 2018 to support retirement communities in delivering outstanding care, leading to Accreditation and the Quality Hallmark Award.

Designed to meet the needs of an ageing population, this training equips retirement village teams with the tools to deliver gold standard care for later life, ensuring residents receive compassionate, person-centred support as they approach their ‘golden years’. The GSF Retirement Village Programme equips care providers with the essential skills and knowledge to deliver outstanding home-based care, ensuring that individuals can live well at home until they die.

GSF Accreditation Process

The GSF Accreditation Quality Hallmark Award is a nationally recognised kite-mark for excellence in care, co-badged by The Associated Retirement Community Operators (ARCO) and other leading care sector organisations, and is an information source for Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection process.

On completion of the training, organisations can register for accreditation to receive the Quality Hallmark Award. Registrations for accreditation open in November each year and the awards are presented the following September. GSF Accreditation lasts for three years at which point you would need to register for re-accreditation. Organisations that have re-accredited every three years achieve platinum status and can be nominated for Retirement Village Of The Year.

GSF is sustainable – there are retirement villages who have now been accredited for more than six years.

There are four parts to the Accreditation Process:

1

Key Outcome Ratios & Patient Audit

2
