Enabling a gold standard of care for all people nearing the end of life

Specialist Palliative Care

Welcome. The national Gold Standards Framework team is keen to work with specialists in palliative care to promote a gold standard of care for all patients at the end of life. The focus of GSF is to put systems in place in general practices and care homes to ensure high quality care for every patient and their family in the last year or so of life. The launch of Next Stage GSF - Going for Gold on 30th June brings new emphasis to cross boundary working and pre-planning by all of us to decrease the length and number of hospital admissions. Hospices and palliative care specialists have a key role in promoting this approach.
